Frequently Asked Questions

Before contacting us, you might find answers to common questions below:

How accurate is the BAC calculator?

Our calculator uses the scientifically validated Widmark formula, which is accurate within ±20% for most individuals. However, individual metabolism varies based on many factors. For legal or medical purposes, use professional testing.

Why do I need to enter my weight?

Body weight directly affects BAC because heavier individuals have more blood volume, which dilutes alcohol concentration. The Widmark formula requires this to provide accurate estimates.

What is a standard drink?

A standard drink contains 14 grams of pure alcohol. This equals 12 oz of beer (5% ABV), 5 oz of wine (12% ABV), or 1.5 oz of spirits (40% ABV). Use our AI assistant to convert mixed drinks.

Can I use this to determine if I'm safe to drive?

No. The only safe BAC for driving is 0.00%. This tool is for education only. Never use it to make driving decisions. If you've been drinking, use a rideshare, taxi, or designated driver.
